एक वो बेबाक लड़कपन था, गुस्ताखी भी की तो शान से।
एक ये मोहतात जवानी है, वो तीर भी बा-अदब लौट आये जो दनदनाते निकले थे कमान से।

The Invisible Line
Where do you draw a line between positive-attitude and over-confidence? How would you know that your optimism towards something is your positive-attitude or over-confidence? Does a line exist that clearly separates one from the other or may be one of these is just a vague concept? Or is it a gradient…..like beauty of pink slowly emerging into danger of red? Or may be both can co-exist. And introducing a new term (well….to most of us), is there something called ‘under-confidence’? Try to think on each of the questions above and let me know your views; I will update my own as they evolve.

Update 1:
I would take an example to proceed further with the topic. Sally has a dream to climb Mount-Everest. We will try to evaluate whether her optimism towards climbing Mount-Everest, in a particular situation, is her over-confidence or her positive-attitude.
Let’s take a case in which Sally wants to climb Mount-Everest IN ONE DAY. “Naaaaah…….that is clearly over-confidence” - did I hear that from most of you? Well……you would have had same expressions for the modified case-without the condition of ‘one-day’ and taking a ride in time-machine back to the days when sir Edmond Hillary had not thought of conquering the unconquerable; take the return journey, come back to present, and you are proved wrong; he has already conquered Mount-Everest. Impossible just means that it has not been done till now. Or, rephrasing the same thing in a different manner, you took Sally’s optimism as over-confidence because no body has climbed Mount-Everest in one day TILL NOW. So can we conclude that in this case there doesn’t exist anything called over-confidence? Let me know.

Yeh Gulaam tha, Woh huzoor tha
Woh nasha tha, Yeh saroor tha
Koi gehra sa in dono mein ek rishta toh jaroor tha
Woh kaun tha, jo has diya; Yeh kaun tha, jo ro pada
Woh husn tha, magroor tha; Yeh ishq tha, majboor tha

'Whether you will get what you want' is not as big a matter of concern as the clarity in your mind about 'what you REALLY want and whether you want that AT ALL'.
And it's a pity that throughout our life, most of us keep thinking about the former whereas latter should take the precedence.

Rooth baithe hain janaab jaane kis baat pe
Unse gustakhi hum karen, us-se pehle qayamat hogi
Seedhe saza suna dein woh, toh bhee gila nahin
Par khataa bataa dein, toh inaayat hogi

Bhoot ko vartmaan se toulta hoon,
Beete lamhon mein chand khushiyaan tatolta hoon,
Aatam-vishleshan ke liye man ke dwaar kholta hoon,
Aur bhaavnayein shabdon mein piro kar jab sach bolta hoon..
.........toh log poochhte hain............."Aap shaayari karte hain?"

Kal duniya rangeen thee, Par woh hamesha se waisi hai
Kal chaand khila tha, Par woh koi nayee baat nahin
Kal unse baat hui, Par.............................................

Pehle bahaa diya karte thhe, Ab aansoo peene ki aadat si ho gayee hai
Pehle darr lagta tha, Ab andheron mein jeene ki aadat si ho gayee hai
Pehle dard hota tha, Ab dard bhare seene ke aadat si ho gayee hai
Pehle karhwee lagti thee, Ab bina paani ke peene ki.......

Aye mere sapne, tu poora mat hona
Tere adhoora rehne ka dard toh waqt ke saath mit jayega
Par tu poora ho gaya toh ek naya sapna aayega, aur ek naya dard layega
Is baar toh bach gaya SACH, Agli baar...yakinan...nahin bach payega.

Be a spectator of your present:
Have you ever been in a situation when you find yourself peeking into your not so glorious past and imaginatively correcting your stupid acts that you wish you hadn’t done or better had done in a way that could have made that glorious? I do it often and I think everybody does it, for a simple reason that everybody makes mistakes. And ironically all of us become Spielbergs in mastering the directions of retakes of our already released and quite often flopped flicks (or horror flicks, should I say?).
If you try to deep dive into the process of afore mentioned retakes, you will find it extremely intriguing. Your present self becomes the director and the past self is actor. You closely watch what the actor is performing; interrupting him when he goes wrong and immediately correcting him and the process goes on and on until your actor has perfected the shot or your past. And then comes regretting; because, although analogous, its not real bollywood where you can do the Ram Gopal Verma act of redirecting and re-releasing James.
But have you ever wondered it is not some third person but we only who deliver a perfect shot of ourselves in the end, ofcourse in imagination. Can we apply this process to our present or immediate future and try to improve it? A food for thought….Think…….I will think too…..So I conclude with an open article……suggestions welcomed.

Hi!
This is my first blog entry. I am not a seasoned writer, I planned to write blogs just to keep a record of the thoughts that come to my mind as a flash of light and disappear as quickly if not preserved.
So my blogs may appear quite weird to most of people. I will write anything from existent to non-existent, from facts to whims, fiction, reality ..........you got it........literally ANYTHING. You are welcome to read and post suggestions, feedbacks etc.

Enjoy!!
